Fly Rod Recommendation

Dear Ian

Now that the trout season proper is at an end, I want to say how much I have been enjoying the 3/4 wt Harrison Fly rod you made for me. The rod has worked perfectly and I have grown to love the preciseness of the rod. It casts beautifully and my accuracy has improved hugely. The lightness of delivery of line on the water makes my other rods feel like chucking rocks in. I have caught many fish in the 2 - 3 lb region and using such a light rod had added tremendously to the sport.

On top of all this, I have been able to do away with the wrist band that I needed previously to get a decent cast as I was favouring an arthritic thumb joint. Of course it also looks fantastic. I just love that deep wine red and the invisible whipping, plus the dainty cork which moulds delightfully in the hand.

Fly Rod Recommendation

Hi Ian,

I just wanted to thank you for the 3 WT Harrison Fly Rod you recently built for me, a really superb rod built to a fantastic standard. Thank you for your help in selecting guides and beautiful reel seat. The rod is a work of art, your communication, service and delivery is second to none, I would certainly recommend your rod building services to others and will be back for more.

Best Regards,

Ian Crook

Fly Rod Recommendation

Ian,

I received my new rod today in good order, and just wanted to say a huge thank you. It really has exceeded all expectations, and I think is one of the most handsome rods I have ever held. You are very talented indeed.

I just want to also thank you for your absolute attention to detail throughout, your constant communications, and for putting up with my neurosis. Your photos also serve as a nice memento of the project.

I look forward to April 1st and catching my first Great Eau wild Brown on it. Until then, I will look for a sound enough excuse to put an order in for another! Maybe a Nymphing rod? We all need a custom nymphing rod. Don't we?!

Tight lines,

Ben Westoby
